Born in Vancouver and raised in Seven Potatoes (aka Nanaimo), Jennifer Laidlaw is half urban arts and culture junkie and half hippy islander. She can be found scribbling must-see concerts onto coloured post-its, whipping together itineraries for her next adventure and practicing her signature cross-country ski dance move in random places.
Her first ‘career’ job entailed flying above the city in a Cessna for six terrifying months as a traffic reporter for local radio stations, in which one flight came much too close to a helicopter (if you can see the other pilot’s sunglasses it is probably not a good sign). To this day she still takes drugs to fly.
With a degree in Communications from Simon Fraser University and diploma in Radio and Television Broadcasting from Columbia Academy in Vancouver, Jennifer has worked as a radio news reporter/announcer and communications coordinator in agency and corporate settings. She currently edits a health care publication for a Vancouver health authority and is a regular contributor on Guttersnipe and Granville online – two blogs about Vancouver arts, culture and entertainment.
Hi Jenn,
I’ve been following your adventures on Granville Online’s Secret City and I’m wondering what the best way is to reach you. Reason being: scoop on an upcoming event created exclusively for Vancouver called “Party This Weekend”…and an exclusive invite to a blogger night. Care to shoot me an email and I can tell you more?
Thanks,
Diana Squires

Cheers!
Hi Jenn,
I love what you are doing here and would like to contact you to tell you about this weird cult phenomenon infiltrating our cultural scene in Van City.
Please shoot me an email so that we can discuss.
Thanks!
